Drayton Valley RCMP report: Jan. 23 – Jan. 30

January 23

11:18 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting an assault. Roommate punched complainant in the face and sprayed them with chemical spray. Members attended, no signs of physical injuries. Heated arguments on both sides. Members separated parties and provided a courtesy ride back to parents’ residence.

12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an accident, school bus vs. pedestrian. Complainant was walking on the sidewalk, the bus was leaving and had to cut hard to get around a parked bus. Back end of the bus hit their right shoulder.

4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting known male is threatening people and trying to get into the building. Members attended, male had left prior to arrival. Patrols made, not located.

4:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer Court – Complainant calling to advise they returned to their residence and a known male is in their yard digging for bottles. Complainant told him to leave and male threatened complainant then returned with 3 other males. Complainant left, however, is concerned the male may attempt to damage property. Members attended and located male who was arrested and charged for Mischief.

4:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Center Court Trailer Court – Complainant reporting an ongoing dispute. Residence has been condemned and they are not being allowed to enter the trailer to obtain their belongings. Ongoing issue. Health inspector condemned trailer. Trailer is boarded up. Members attended, complainant would not provide a statement.

4:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a female outside the store crying. Member attended and located known female who advised they were fine and did not require any assistance.

6:42 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in a black Ford Ranger. Driver contacted who advised they were not going to be driving this evening.

7:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a female relative was using drugs. Member attended and located known female who was clearly under the influence of something. Female did not wish any assistance.

10:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male lying in the parking lot. Male is wearing a black coat. Members attended, complainant advised male had left pulling a sled and staggering. Members searched area, male not located.

January 24

3:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in the dumpster near the hotel. Male was driving an older 4 door vehicle. Member attended, male had left upon arrival, patrols were negative.

6:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford F-150. Queries indicated that the registration had been expired since 2018. Driver further indicated that they had no insurance and that their drivers licence was expired. Driver was charged for driving an uninsured motor vehicle and for driving while unauthorized. Vehicle towed.

3:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an elderly female is currently driving erratically. Unable to park vehicle, has hit the curb several times.

4:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance with eviction. Bailiff is at residence. Known female has locked the door and is refusing to come out. Member attended and assisted Bailiff with removal.

4:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Commercial alarm going off. Member attended, building cleared, no indication of forced entry.

5:09 pm – Brazeau County – RR 110 – Complainant reporting a fire south of Cynthia. Grader on fire. Fire Department on scene.

5:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reporting an unattended fire behind the Omniplex. Complainant believes that there are homeless people living there. Member attended and located male who had a small fire as they were trying to dry their gloves. Fire extinguished.

5:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting threats of a break and enter. Complainant advised that they heard from a third party that two individuals were going to break into the residence they were just evicted from to steal their belongings. Members attended location, complainant was not there and could not be located.

5:46 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a vehicle struck a median and vehicle is now against a light post. Member attended, vehicle was gone upon arrival. No obvious damage left behind.

8:08 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 503 – Complainant reporting the sound of a high-pressure leak.

8:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving harassing messages online. Messages are inappropriate. Complainant does not know person sending the messages.

10:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Grey or tan car is parked at the end of their driveway. Rear and front body damage. Member contacted owner of vehicle who advised they had hit a guard rail. Vehicle began overheating.

January 25

12:46 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting their neighbours were playing loud music. Member attended, nothing heard, however, advised occupant to keep down the noise.

2:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a broken window. Members attended, one pane broken, inner pane intact. Business was secure.

3:25 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant called back to say their neighbour was being loud again. Member attended again, nothing could be heard.

10:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male walked into a lease site and approached the complainant’s vehicle. Attempted to open the door. Complainant confronted male who ran off. Male described as approximately 35 years old wearing a toque and a longer black coat and work boots. Members attended and were able to identify known male who was subsequently spoken to.

10:48 am – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd. – Complainant reporting harassing communications. Complainant sold a female a portable satellite dish and two days later the female reported it would not connect and now wants their money back. They have been calling complainants work non stop. Member spoke with both parties and advised it is a civil dispute and to deal with the matter in the appropriate manner.

1:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Abandoned 911 call, open line. Female advised they pushed the wrong button. No emergency.

6:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a hit and run sometime in the past 24 hours. Complainants white Chrysler 300 was hit on the corner of the front bumper. Black paint transfer, an investigation showed not a hit and run.

7:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Members attended and located a Chevrolet Silverado which had been reported stolen from Leduc. Vehicle towed and held for forensic examination.

8:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Members were dispatched to a landlord-tenant dispute. Landlord has had all the locks changed on their suite and now they can’t get in to get their belongings. Members attended and spoke with both parties. Member assisted complainant with obtaining personal items.

January 26

4:25 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver has a suspended drivers licence and an outstanding warrant from Rocky Mountain House.

8:19 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant calling to report an unwanted female who is out of control. Requests members attend. Members attended, female arrested for mischief as she broke items in the residence.

8:30 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting vandalism to their vehicle while parked at a hotel. Window broken. Several other vehicles were damaged as well.

9:06 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting they caught a male in their back yard stealing some items. Complainant chased them and advised them to give their property back.

2:48 pm – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Request to assist Fire Department with a vehicle fire. Member attended location. Owner suspects an electrical issue.

8:08 pm – Brazeau County – Violet Grove area – Request to assist Fire Department with a vehicle fire.

9:00 pm – Drayton valley – 56 Street – Request to assist EMS, female not feeling well. Female went to hospital with EMS.

January 27

5:21 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant calling to report their vehicle was broken into while parked overnight. The side window was broken. Vehicle alarm went off. Complainant looked outside, but did not observe any persons around.

7:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of their Red 2001 Dodge Ram Truck overnight. Aluminum slip tank in the back. Rusty wheel wells and dirty mudflaps.

9:18 AM – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting someone stole their 28-foot extension ladder from their work truck.

9:44 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting harassing messages via Facebook. Both parties spoken to and warned.

10:07 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting someone attempted to break into their 2016 Chrysler 300. Driver window cracked.

10:12 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a break and enter to vacant property. Nothing missing. Broke into the garage. Members attended the property to ensure it was secure.

10:43 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting their driver side window was broken on their 2017 Ford Fusion. Vehicle had been rummaged through and change stolen.

10:49 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting fraudulent activity to their Servus Credit Union Account. Someone took out $6000 through e-transfer.

10:59 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant calling to report they received a call asking them to purchase $500 worth of gift cards. Complainant did so. They are calling back again. Member advised them not to provide any further information or to purchase any gift cards.

11:01 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting their 2011 Ford F-350 was broken into overnight. Drivers side window broken and centre console stolen along with approximately $20 change.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report a theft of garbage can.

12:07 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report fraudulent activity on their credit card. Two purchases totaling $204.01. Purchases were made in Victoria BC.

12:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassment and threats. Friends that they don’t associate with anymore are saying they owe them money.

12:37 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their 2017 Ram Truck had been gone through overnight and wallet stolen.

1:53 pm – Parkland County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Vehicle is a 2014 Nissan Murano.

2:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a 2018 Honda Civic was broken into and the battery stolen.

3:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they hit a post by a gas pump.

3:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a large hay bale in the middle of the road near McDonalds. Member attended, hay bale had already been moved.

3:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant requesting assistance to retrieve their belongings at parent’s residence. Parents won’t let them in. Member attended and kept the peace while they retrieved their belongings.

4:36 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report theft of their 1990’s Buick training vehicle. Vehicle had been donated to the Fire Department to be used for training. Both front doors are removed and ‘A’ posts cut. Suspects rammed the gate exiting the property.

9:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male is in the back stairwell. Members attended, male not located. Left prior to arrival.

January 28

1:45 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting an assault, family dispute. Intoxicated brother and sister are physically fighting. Member attended and parties separated. Neither wished charges. No injuries observed.

6:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of ATV and trailer overnight. Stolen is a red Honda 500 TRX foreman with snowshoes on the front.

8:42 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant calling to report an erratic driver near the airport. A red Chevrolet SUV tried to pass a school bus that had its warning lights flashing.

8:52 am – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of 2016 Skidoo Tundra XTR, orange in colour. Skidoo was stolen out of the back of their truck while parked in parking lot.

9:14 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they were southbound on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and struck the front end of their truck.

9:18 am – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492 – Request to assist Brazeau County Peace Officer at a traffic stop. Queries on the driver showed prohibited from driving. Members attended and arrested male driver.

11:00 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting an unwanted female at a store. Members attended and located known female who was disoriented and confused. Queries indicated female wanted on outstanding warrants. Female arrested and held for hearing.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant requesting members conduct a wellbeing check on daughters. Daughters are fine.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male bought cigarettes and tried to light one inside the store and at the gas pumps. Complainant advised male not to do that as it was dangerous. Male left in a Black Ford truck. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.

1:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting unlicensed male driving a burgundy Chevrolet Astro Van. Vehicle located. Ticket for no licence issued.

1:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a motor vehicle collision. Members attended and were advised by the complainant that they had been assaulted. Statements taken from three individuals, no assault, no collision.

2:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reporting a tall male living behind their office. Members attended location, telltale signs that someone is living there, propane bottles and tent found. Description of male indicates they are known to police.

4:11 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a black truck pulling a stock trailer with ice on the top is travelling southbound. Complainant is concerned that the ice will fall off and hit someone.

10:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their white 2008 Pontiac G6 was stolen. Vehicle recovered by Slave Lake RCMP.

11:31 PM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible stolen vehicle out of Ponoka was observed in a parking lot. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.

January 29

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting intoxicated driver in a 1980’s red S10 Truck. Vehicle almost hit complainant. The driver is a male with a grey beard and long grey hair wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Was stumbling around with a beer in hand. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

8:29 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break, enter and theft from a shed overnight. Hydraulic press stolen.

9:15 AM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they were traveling north on Hwy 22 when a deer ran out from the ditch and struck the driver’s side of the truck.

9:29 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Complainant reporting their spare tire was stolen from their Ford F-350.

10:28 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting a possible stolen bicycle left behind their building. Pink Bicycle in a snowbank.

10:48 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they hit a deer with their truck, damage to the front end.

12:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a known male is outside their residence yelling and causing a disturbance.

2:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant is reporting a white Ford parked in an unplowed driveway. Member attended, vehicle stuck in ditch.

4:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Complainant reporting known male is snooping around neighbour’s residence. Members attended and patrolled area, male not located.

5:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting observing a male yelling and choking a female. Members attended and spoke with male and female. No assault.

5:46 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Complainant reporting an attempted theft of vehicle between Jan. 22 and Jan. 29. Vehicle had been broken into and the steering column broken on their white 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

6:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a freight truck is swerving all over the road, driving at varying speeds. Member attended location, vehicle not located.

7:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Animal Control requesting assistance trying to apprehend a German Shepherd dog that was hit by a car. Dog is aggressive and trying to attack people. Dog located, however, took off into wooded area.

8:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an unsecured premise. Main gate is wide open. Member attended, cleaning staff on-premises working.

9:19 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a white Cadillac is driving all over the road into oncoming traffic, almost forced complainant off the road. Member on patrol located vehicle matching description and conducted a traffic stop. Driver denied driving in the manner described. No plate provided, no proof that was the vehicle.

9:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 22 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Black Toyota Tacoma pulled in to the back parking lot. Driver was male wearing a toque. Member located vehicle later and conducted a traffic stop.

11:08 pm – Brazeau County RR 72 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle before the Rocky Rapids Cemetery. Vehicle is a white Ford F-150, has been there for the past 6 days.

January 30

3:43 am – Brazeau county – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting someone broke into their vehicle. Members attended. Suspect vehicle located nearby with items inside. Members located a track which they followed through the bushes to the Industrial Area. Vehicle seized.

5:19 am – Drayton Valley – West Country Inn – Complainant reporting their driver side window on their white 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 was broken and several items stolen.

7:36 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer court – Complainant located some possibly stolen property stashed near their vehicle. Members attended and seized items.
