Rocky RCMP Report Jan 16-23

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of January 16- 23

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

January 16

5:10 P.M. – 2001 silver DODGE Ram stolen from auto repair shop in RMH.

10:19 P.M. – Call of a vehicle crashing into Ecole Rocky Elementary School and then fled the scene. The matter is under investigation.

January 17

3:09 P.M. – Stolen Toyota Rav4, from Red Deer, recovered behind a residence in RMH. An adult male from RMH was seen entering the parked vehicle and was subsequently arrested & charged including for breaching previous release conditions. He was remanded into custody and is to appear again in RMH Provincial Court January 22.

January 18

2:35 A.M. – 911 call of an intoxicated youth at a residence in RMH who broke a phone and punched another person. Police attended and located the individual outside. He was subsequently arrested and released when sober for a future court date.

4:23 P.M. – Report of a shoplifter at a RMH liquor store. Under investigation.

8:08 P.M. – Vehicle stopped by police on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve after it was observed with front-end damage. A female driver was charged with driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

January 19

8:40 A.M. – Report of a suspicious 4-door white car driving down a private driveway on Range Road 6-4 & Twp Rd 40-0, Clearwater County.

8:48 A.M. – Call of an intoxicated, unresponsive male at a RMH restaurant. Police attended and arrested the individual for public intoxication after he refused to go with EMS. He was released when sober.

6:22 P.M. – Resident on Range Road 7-5A & Twp Rd 41-2, Clearwater County, came home to find the front door of his residence kicked open. A Honda Generator was stolen.

January 20

10:08 A.M. – RMH resident reported vandalism to her vehicle as 3 tires of her vehicle had been flattened.

1:15 P.M. – Quonset broken into at property on Buster Creek Road. Makita tools were stolen.

2:53 P.M. – Complaint of fraud as a RMH financial institution advised that someone came in and wanted to open a bank account with overdraft. This person gave a name but could not provide any ID. The real person contacted the bank the following day advising they received notification of this fraudulent activity. No money was lost. Matter under investigation.

10:06 P.M. – Call of an intoxicated male at a residence, on the O’Cheise First Nation Reserve, smashing things inside. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released when sober.

January 21

9:18 A.M. – Report of a suspicious truck in driveway of a residence on Hwy #11. The bed of the truck reportedly had numerous batteries and cut cables inside. Police attended and confirmed that the FORD SuperDuty pickup truck had been stolen. Under investigation.

1:54 P.M. – Theft of licence plate taken from a vehicle in RMH.

2:06 P.M. – Police received a report of “Theft of Medication”

7:52 P.M. – Police on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve attempted to stop and erratic driver which fled from police. The vehicle pulled into an approach to a residence at which time the driver fled. Later 40 grams of Meth was located inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. Under investigation.

January 22

6:52 A.M. – B&E to a RMH residential garage overnight. Vehicle rifled through inside garage and also a chainsaw was stolen.

6:58 A.M. – Police received a report of gate locks cut off from a RMH business overnight. The culprit(s) were able to enter the yard and also cross into other business compounds in the RMH industrial area, including that of the school division where a red 2006 GMC G2500 van was stolen. Other vehicles were broken into and numerous electrical and plumbing tools were entered.

10:23 A.M. – B&E reported to a rural residence and shop on SecHwy #761, Leslieville area. A green 2003 GMC Sierra was stolen. Occurred in the past 2 days. Under investigation.

2:10 P.M. – Report of a suspicious male walking around with a piece of broken mirror in his hand, near RMH Drug store. Members attended, spoke to him, and relieved him of his potential weapon. No arrest was made.

2:38 P.M. – B&E to business yard overnight of a RMH body shop.

5:58 P.M. – B&E to residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. Food and clothing was stolen.

January 23

8:01 A.M. – Vehicle broken into overnight while parked at a residence in RMH. Craft items, curtains, and clothing was stolen.
