Lacombe murder suspects back in court this month

A man and woman accused in the death of a man in Lacombe are due back in court at the end of this month.

Tyler John Campbell, 27, and Amie Rogers, 21, are charged with second-degree murder and resisting a peace officer. Campbell is also charged with breach of conditions.

During the 2 a.m. hour on Dec. 15, a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital in Lacombe suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, Jeffrey Kraft of Ponoka, died from his injuries.

Police determined Kraft had met with a female and male acquaintance earlier that night while driving in the north east part of Lacombe.

A confrontation occurred during which police say a firearm was presented by the male suspect and a shot was fired, striking a victim who was then driven to the hospital and dropped off.

Campbell and Rogers were identified as the suspects and later arrested by Sylvan Lake RCMP after a short foot pursuit.

Campbell and Rogers made a brief court appearance on Dec. 20 and are due back in court Jan. 31.
