Drayton Valley RCMP report: Dec. 12 – Dec. 19

December 12

8:22 am – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant reporting theft of cable. The suspect vehicle is a small blue or black car. The vehicle sped off running the complainant off the road. Member attended. Matter still under investigation.

8:40 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting break and enter to shop sometime overnight. Entry made over the fence. Tools missing. RV on-site rummaged through. Member attended.

11:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant advised they were traveling north of 50 Street when they were rear-ended by unknown driver. Complainant attempted to get driver to stop but they took off. Vehicle is a big yellow truck with a female driver.

11:53 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report theft of utility dump trailer. Trailer had been rented out and not returned.

12:15 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Members responded to a 2 vehicle motor vehicle collision between two semi trucks. One male pronounced deceased at scene. Road closed and traffic rerouted for several hours while scene was investigated and cleaned up.

1:43 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant calling to report icy bridge deck over North Saskatchewan River. Members called Carrillion to have sanders respond.

6:13 pm – Drayton valley – Complainant reporting female has taken several pills. Member attended.

December 13

12:57 am – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting a disturbance. States they were kicked out of room. Members attended and located a female who was taken to hospital.

1:00 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting two males fighting. Members were already on scene.

8:01 am – Brazeau county – Landfill – Complainant reporting a break and enter overnight.

9:21 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting the fence into their yard was cut and a vehicle toolbox on the welding deck of Ford F350 was pried open. Several tools stolen.

10:15 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting person attended their location with a counterfeit US $100 bill. Tried to get Canadian cash for it.

10:41 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the building overnight. They advised that someone has attempted to barricade themselves in the furnace room. Food found in furnace room.

12:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting their wallet containing their iPod, drivers licence and credit card were stolen from their coat pocket while at EPAC.

1:47 pm – Brazeau county – 911 open line, no issues, new phones installed.

2:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting female has eaten and is now refusing to pay. Member attended and located the known female. The female was under the impression she had paid using her phone.

2:24 pm – Drayton valley – Complainant reporting that their friend defrauded them of $550. The friend had asked them to deposit a third party cheque and the cheque bounced.

10:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a semi with an enclosed trailer has no tail lights.

11:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting threats. Stated that their daughter, a known female, has been calling them asking for help and a place to stay. Members patrolled area, female not located.

December 14

1:29 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial road – Member on patrol located two known persons. Member spoke with them as they were both on no contact conditions.

6:19 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant advised they were patrolling area when they observed a male with the window broken on a truck in a parking lot. Members attended, the plate of the vehicle came back as stolen. Male arrested for possession of stolen property.

10:04 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting wide loads are going through and turning the advisory warning lights for the traffic lights, but failing to turn them back when done. Member attended and saw one of the amber boards had not been turned back. Company advised.

12:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft from their 2016 red Chevrolet Cruz overnight. Back passenger window broken. A backpack and MacBook were stolen.

2:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Commercial alarm going off, Members attended, false alarm, snow being cleared.

2:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting someone stole the power breaker going into their trailer. Landlord Tennant issue.

3:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of disturbance. Male is in a bobcat and dumping snow on property. Believes male is intentionally attempting to bury residence. Members attended. Occupants of residence have been served multiple eviction notices.

3:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting another tenant is going around trying to rip breaker boxes out of other peoples rentals. Member attended. Person is trying to fix their breaker box.

4:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting male is trying to hook up power using live wires. Member attended, no one on scene. Fortis contacted.

4:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 38 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Grey truck past by a few times then went around the post office box and between it and sidewalk before driving to a back field and into the bush. Member patrolled area, however vehicle not located.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol observed known male driving a snowmobile in town. Traffic stop attempted, however, the male fled and did not stop. The driver was arrested shortly after and snowmobile towed.

6:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their truck was loaded up with tools. Left the vehicle for a short time, when they returned, vehicle had been broken into and several tools stolen.

11:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting they were assaulted by someone while driving them home. Complainant is a taxi driver who picked up a fare at Boston Pizza. They dropped the male off, however, he refused to pay. Matter is still under investigation.

December 15

12:31 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting someone is currently in their 2019 Dodge Ram stealing stuff. Suspect took off towards a black trailer.

1:50 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – 911 open line. Member located caller who advised they had misdialed.

2:23 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting they can hear music playing from the garage across the alley. Members attended, no music heard.

9:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft from their white 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. Window broken and two H2S monitors and charger stolen along with a few cans of soup.

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant advised they found a TV in the parking lot at Ramada Inn. Member attended and seized a 55-inch tv.

1:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate overnight.

1:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male wearing all black, with drugs laying on the ground. Member patrolled area, male not located.

3:25 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant calling to report a vehicle on fire. Fire department attended and put out fire. Driver is uninjured and walking around.

5:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting plane crash. Plane fell short of the runway. Sole occupant is uninjured, no damage to plane. Member attended.

8:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a hit and run while parked in a parking lot. 2019 blue Ford F150, glass from window and broken tail light.

December 16

2:47 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant called 911 requesting members attend and pick up boyfriend as he was going crazy. Male had left. No injuries, nothing physical. Member attended, the male had returned. 22-year-old Carter Penny arrested for assault and outstanding warrants. Held for a bail hearing.

8:38 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant advising that 6 to 98 young cows came into their yard, unknown who they belong to. Complainant has them in a feed pen. Member was en route when the complainant called back and advised owners had been located.

9:08 am – Brazeau County – Alarm received at residence. Member was en route when alarm canceled by the owner.

10:28 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting sometime before December 5, their tonneau cover was pried open and damaged.

10:42 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a possible break and enter in progress. Members attended, neighbour is taking care of place.

11:49 am – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting their life was threatened. Member took statement.

2:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant advised that they parked their vehicle in front of residence overnight. When they went to move it as they were plowing the streets, they observed damage to the driver’s side fender and mirror.

2:51 pm – Drayton valley – 36 Street – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate.

3:12 pm – Drayton valley – 911 call, members attended, no emergency, an error made when dialing out.

6:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complaint of assault. Members attended, 30-year-old Jarrett Thompson arrested and charged with numerous offences. Thompson held for a bail hearing.

7:54 pm – Brazeau county – RR 82 – 911 call received for a possible gas leak. Complainant advised they received a call advising their furnace went out and would not light. Complainant tried to call back, no answer, concerned for the welfare of the occupant of the residence. Members were en route when the complainant called back and advised that the occupants phone had died. No emergency.

9:40 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting a suspicious black cloud coming from a fire pit. Possibly burning copper wire.

December 17

3:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of Christmas tree and ornaments.

2:17 pm – Brazeau county – Brazeau Dam – Brazeau county CPO conducted a traffic stop. Female driver had outstanding warrants. Requested assistance from members who attended and arrested female driver and took her to detachment to deal with warrants.

4:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting daughter missing. Daughter located prior to members’ arrival.

7:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street and Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting ongoing issues with unwanted persons entering building to have showers without paying. Members attended and are aware of the known male and female.

December 18

1:22 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male trying to gain entry. Fence alarm has gone off. Male described as wearing a face mask and winter gear. Members attended and located a known male matching description. 40-year-old Peter Bilan arrested and charged with break and enter and possession of break-in tools. Bilan held for a bail hearing.

5:25 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance with building walk-through as an intrusion alarm has gone off. Member attended

6:01 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male and female in a verbal dispute. Male has shaved head, black and white snowsuit, female wearing a black winter jacket with a fur hood.

8:30 am – Lodgepole – Complainant calling to report they hit a deer that is still alive and needs to be euthanized. Member attended, deer already deceased.

8:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism to building. In addition, there is an abandoned wagon with a bunch of stuff in it, suitcase, garbage bags, and Rubbermaid container. Someone wrote all over the building in pen leaving behind name. A known female also tried to saw into the building leaving the saw behind.

9:46 am – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a grey Mazda is abandoned near Cynthia. Vehicle is a rental. Member contacted person who rented vehicle. Nothing suspicious, in the area doing research.

10:08 am – Brazeau County – commercial burglary alarm. Was canceled a short while later. False alarm.

11:29 am – Drayton valley area – Complainant calling wanting information on an individual who purchased a vehicle from them. Vehicle is being repossessed due to non-payment.

12:14 pm – Cynthia area – Complainant reporting they have been receiving threatening and harassing messages and phone calls. Member called and spoke with both parties who were advised to refrain from communication or charges of criminal harassment could be laid.

1:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock High School. – Complainant reporting a male took a Mac computer, headphones and other items. Entered through an unlocked front door. Matter is still under investigation.

1:18 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a male advised there is a female in the ditch. She is sitting in the passenger seat of a small car. Member attended location, but vehicle not located.

4:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant called to report a screeching noise. Member made patrols and located the source of the noise. Member spoke with person who advised it was a noise to keep the birds away and agreed to turn the device off.

6:56 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a traffic hazard. Individual is walking down the side of the road wearing all black, hitchhiking. Very hard to see. Members attended location and patrolled area, individual not located.

10:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male is refusing to leave a drinking establishment. Associated with a white Sommerville pickup. Members attended and arrested male who was lodged in cells until sober.
