Accused Rocky Mountain House murderer going to trial
The man accused in the shooting death of a Rocky Mountain House woman and attempted murder of her sister is going to trial.
Marshall Lawrence Stone, 45, is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder with a firearm.
It was just after 7:30 p.m. on July 26 when Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to several 9-1-1 complaints of a male with a gun in a residence.
Police arrived at the home to find Ashley Smith-Ames dead and her sister, Alexis Ames, suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Three children inside the home were not hurt.
