Guilty plea in 2018 death at Sunchild First Nation
A woman from the Sunchild First Nation has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection to the death of another woman a year ago.
Chelsey Lagrelle, 24, entered her plea Monday morning in Red Deer provincial court.
RCMP responded to a call on Dec. 12, 2018 of a person in distress on the Sunchild First Nation. Officers arrived to find the body of Samantha Sharpe, 25, inside the residence, along with a 24-year-old man who was injured.
Lagrelle was arrested at different location without incident by Rocky Mountain House RCMP and charged with manslaughter and assault with a weapon. The latter count is set to be withdrawn in exchange the manslaughter guilty plea.
