Rocky RCMP Report Dec. 5- 12

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of December 5-December 12, 2019.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

December 5

12:55 P.M. – Report of 2 shoplifters at a RMH department store. A pair of Mukluks and other clothing was stolen. The mukluks were retrieved by a store employee who confronted the suspects. Under investigation.

2:48 P.M. – “Batric” batteries, oil, and 300’ of “10 gauge” cable stolen from lease site a week prior on Range Road 6-0, Clearwater County.

6:05 P.M. – Grey 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche stolen from residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

December 6

11:54 A.M. – Complaint from a RMH motel advising that 2 individuals were attempting to book a room with a stolen credit card. Police attended and they were subsequently arrested. Charges pending.

1:33 P.M. – Report of a possible fraud at a RMH motel. Police attended and arrested 2 individuals in a vehicle, one of whom had outstanding warrants for his arrest, for “Fraudulent use of a Credit Card” and for “Possession of a Prohibited firearm”.

3:41 P.M. – 911 call of a stolen cherry red 2010 FORD F150 pickup truck, taken from a residence on Crimson Lake Drive, Clearwater County.

4:29 P.M. – B&E reported to a cottage at Crimson Lake. Under investigation

10:17 P.M. – Truck topper found near Pine Hills golf course.

December 7

1:59 A.M. – While conducting patrols on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve, police located a known vehicle driving erratically. When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed but it was located a short time later stuck in the snow. As a result, 4 individuals were arrested, some of whom had outstanding arrest warrants. A handgun and methamphetamine were located.

5:28 AM. – Complaint of an erratic driver on Hwy#11. Police located the vehicle which had pulled into a property. The driver was found passed out in the driver’s seat. He refused to provide breath samples & was subsequently arrested. Charges pending.

10:28 A.M. – Report of a B&E to a cottage over the last few days on the Crimson Lake Road.

11:05 A.M. – Theft of a licence plate in the last 24 hours, off a vehicle in Caroline.

1:17 P.M. – Report of a B&E to a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

9:40 P.M. – Report of an employee of an oil/gas company who had been following a suspect vehicle which had broken into a lease site. The suspect vehicle, a newer grey DODGE ½ ton pickup truck, had attempted to ram the employee’s truck and had thrown objects at it. Inspection of the area revealed that the culprit(s) cut the main power to the site and broke into a SeaCan container. $250,000 in damages and lost revenue. Information sent to neighboring detachments.

December 8

6:07 A.M. – Call of a RMH residence who advised that someone had drilled a hole in the gas tank of his pickup truck, draining all the fuel.

10:06 A.M. – 911 call of a smashed up white DODGE pickup truck “driving like crazy” on highway #11, passing unsafely and going head on into traffic.

2:59 P.M. – Report of a licence plate stolen off a vehicle while parked at residence in RMH.

11:51 P.M. – Police recovered a 2019 white DODGE Ram, which had been stolen from the Hinton area November 30, at a residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

December 9

3:31 P.M. – A white 2006 Chev pickup truck, which had been stolen from the RMH airport, was recovered in Red Deer.

December 10

7:29 A.M. – Report of a B&E to a pipeline services company on Highway #11A. Lock on gate was cut and a number of buildings and SeaCans were broken into. Under investigation.
