Stolen vehicle stop in Olds leads to 14 new charges

OLDS – On December 3, members of the Auto Theft Unit South were conducting surveillance on known prolific offenders in Olds.

An unattended truck with a stolen licence plate was observed outside a residence.

A suspect exited the house and, with the assistance of the Olds RCMP, was arrested a short time later when driving the truck which was determined to have been stolen from Innisfail.

The ignition had been punched and several break-in tools and items of stolen property were located within the vehicle.

The driver was also in possession of what is suspected to be methamphetamine.

Starr Audrey Bowman, 31, from Olds, was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including offences related to being unlawfully at large, and possession of stolen credit cards.

Bowman has now been charged with 14 new offences including several counts of possession of stolen property, drug possession, and possession of break-in instruments.
