Red Deer housing starts continue upward trend

Despite a downward trend in national housing starts last month, Red Deer saw a modest increase.
According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), there were 16 housing starts in Red Deer in October, up from 13 in October of last year.
Year-to-date numbers also show an upward trend in Red Deer housing starts, with 222 so far this year, up from 137 at the same time last year.
Province-wide, there were 1,907 new home construction starts in October, up 35 per cent from the 1,415 new home construction starts seen in October, 2018.
