Southern Alberta man dies after being overcome by gas from ruptured line

MILLARVILLE- A man is dead after a natural gas leak in southern Alberta.

Emergency crews were called to a rural property north of Turner Valley shortly before 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

RCMP say he was digging in a field when he was overcome by gas after rupturing a distribution line.

Emergency medical authorities say a second man was in the area at the time, but was not hurt.
