Medicine Hat man arrested in Ponoka with stolen truck, break-in tools

Ponoka RCMP have arrested a Medicine Hat man on outstanding warrants following an investigation into possible forcible confinement.

On Oct. 30, members from Blackfalds detachment were looking into a report of a female being held against her will by a male armed with a knife inside a stolen truck. The vehicle was reported heading towards Ponoka where members from that jurisdiction were called in to assist.

Police located the truck at a gas station and arrested the male who was in possession of a knife. The female was found hiding behind the cashier counter.

Further investigation revealed that the man and woman were known to each other and had been travelling together to the central Alberta area. It was determined that the woman had not been held against her will and that the truck had been stolen from the Medicine Hat area the previous day.
