Drayton Valley RCMP Report: Oct. 17-23

October 17

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reported that they have received six responses to credit cards applied for in their name. Matter is under investigation.

2:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – A male youth wanted out of Edmonton Police Service was located by police and arrested without incident.

4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – RR 90 – Complainant found some explosive charges used for oilfield work. RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit out of Edmonton attended and collected the devices to be properly disposed of.

October 18

4:46 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – While on patrol, members conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle with an unregistered license plate attached. Investigation also revealed the female driver was criminally suspended from driving. The driver was arrested for driving while prohibited and charges are pending.

7:34 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a black 1997 GMC Sierra, Alberta license plate BPL0567 stolen from a hotel parking lot.

7:35 am – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Report that at 2:37 am, a white 2015 Kenworth semi tractor with attached tri-axle trailer was stolen. The vehicle was later recovered abandoned on the side of the road by a county Peace Officer in Breton’s detachment area.

10:27 am – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Complaint of theft of fuel from a vehicle. Sometime overnight, unknown suspects drilled a hole in the fuel tank. Surveillance video was reviewed; however, it did not capture the incident.

1:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – A stolen vehicle was located being driven on 50 Street. Police made an attempt to stop the vehicle when it pulled in to a business but it fled from police at a high rate of speed on to Highway 22 east out of town towards Breton. Members advised Breton/Thorsby Detachments. The vehicle was later located near Beaumont and the two occupants arrested, charges are pending.

2:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Report of an unknown female smashing windows at a vacant duplex behind the Dodge Dealership. Police attended and located a female walking away from the area matching the description. Investigation determined the female was responsible and she was arrested for mischief and released for court. Charges are currently pending.

October 19

8:49 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Skid steer and trailer stolen from a location approximately 6 km north of Cynthia. Skid steer is a 2013 Bobcat Compact Track Load and the trailer is a 2011 black flat deck with Alberta license plate 4MG361.

10:56 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Found industrial copper wire believed to be stolen.

6:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a possible impaired driver, intoxicated female, staggering on her way to her vehicle. Police attended and spoke with the female who was not intoxicated but had pain due to recent surgery.

October 20

1:52 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Report that a vehicle struck several other vehicles on the street, witnesses were speaking with the driver who appeared intoxicated. Police attended, the male was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and was transported back to the detachment where he provided breath samples well in excess of the legal limit. The male was released for court on December 3, charges are pending.

4:52 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Street – Complainant reported two people may have stolen his neighbour’s vehicle. Police attended, there was no signs of broken glass or anything at the scene and attempts to locate the owner were unsuccessful. Vehicle is a 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 welding truck, white in colour which was confirmed stolen.

10:10 pm – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a physical dispute. Member attended. Matter is still under investigation.

October 21

12:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a possible break and enter to a residence. Members attended, two males arrested. Possession of stolen trailer, methamphetamine and several weapons.

9:47 am – Drayton Valley – Southside DV Travel Centre – Complainant reporting theft of red 2018 Dodge Ram 1500. Vehicle had been parked there while owner was away at work.

11:50 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke the back window of their 2013 black Dodge Ram. Wilson Cell booster and IPad Pro were stolen.

11:52 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting theft of their 2006 white Ford truck overnight.

2:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from vehicle two nights in a row. Work stereo, regulators, cables off reels were all stolen. Vehicle is a white 2016 Ford F350.

October 22

2:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 41 Avenue – Fish & Wildlife called for assistance in getting a deer out of a compound. Members attended to assist.

4:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant noticed his gate open, checked his property and found his orange Phantom 29 Supercycle mountain bike, 2 jerry cans, and a black/grey coat were stolen.

4:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Attempted theft of a truck. Driver side door lock was drilled out but owner had a club on the steering wheel.

11:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Hit and run. Near the bakery a white Ford F250 was side swiped by an dark color pickup truck, possibly black with a burnt out headlight. The unknown vehicle fled. Members attended and patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the passenger side.

October 23

7:51 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Sometime overnight a red Ford F250 was stolen from the location. It was located by police in a parking lot on 53 Avenue at 9:45 am and held for a forensic examination.

1:18 pm –Drayton Valley-Fraud- Complainant reports finding bank account frozen when attempting to withdraw cash. Discovered cheques were digitally deposited and funds were transferred. File is still under investigation.

6:16 pm –Drayton Valley- 51 Street- Residence was broken into via the back door. Owner was not home. Items were seized for forensic examination. File still under investigation.
