CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION

On October 24–Go BLUE in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month

Oct 18, 2019 | 6:09 AM

RED DEER- The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC) is “Going Blue” on Thursday, October 24 in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month – and we want you to join us.

By wearing blue, you are showing support and sparking the conversation around child abuse and creating a community where children are believed and feel safe in telling their story.

You can “Go Blue” by simply getting your office, school, community clubs, and families to wear an item of blue.

The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre has also gratefully partnered with local businesses throughout Red Deer to help raise awareness.

Here are a few local businesses Going Blue:

– Stella Bean Sweets introduces the BLUEberry CAC Donut – designed with CAC colors and swirls. Stop by for your morning coffee, or afternoon snack and grab a donut to show your support.

– Ryde-RD is holding CAC Charity Spin Classes. Hop on a bike and spin in support. There are two chances to ride at 5:30 & 6:30 p.m. Classes are by donation at the door (minimum $10/class). All proceeds from the two classes will be donated to the Centre.

– Troubled Monk is featuring a BLUEberry Bucktooth Cask. Stop by their taproom an enjoy a pint of the speciality crafted CAC brew. $2 from every glass will be donated to the Centre.

Get Social + Go Blue.

Share online how you went blue with the hashtag #CACACGoBlue.

Together, we can show support of the children within our communities who need us to be their voice and help build safer and stronger communities.
