Drayton Valley RCMP Report: Oct. 10-17

October 10

5:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reported that someone was getting shot at. Female began yelling and screaming at call taker and refused to provide address. Member located known female who was not injured and would not cooperate. Had not been shot at with firearm.

7:04 PM – Parkland County – Complainant reporting cows on the road on Hwy 22. Member attended and herded cattle back into pasture with assistance from people passing by. Member then assisted with repairing breach in fence.

9:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism to their locked truck. Damage to ignition and door.

October 11

6:44 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and gooseneck trailer. Vehicle was locked. Glass and part of door lock left behind.

8:52 am – 3:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Five separate 911 calls received. Members investigated all files and determined there were no emergencies.

4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Hotel employee reported a male passed out in a grey car in the parking lot. Member attended, found a new hotel maintenance worker accessing wi-fi from his car. Member introduced the two co-workers.

5:30 pm – Hwy 22/Twp 491 – Members attended after a report that a truck had just left the UFA and lost a slip tank of fuel after a strap holding the tailgate shut gave way. Fire Dept assisted with cleanup. The driver was charged for having an insecure load.

7:05 pm – Hwy 22/Hwy 621 – A complainant who identified himself as “Joe Blow” reported a pickup driving south without lights on. Mr. Blow stated he would issue the driver a warning himself. Patrols were made but the lightless truck wasn’t located.

10:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop due to a burnt out headlight. As a result, a 26-year-old male was issued a three day suspension due to alcohol, charged with obstruction for providing a false name and for driving while suspended. The car he was driving was impounded for three days. Members also executed warrants from other jurisdictions.

October 12

3:10 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Member parked outside the bar watching the patrons dissipate observed a male “chirping” at other patrons in an apparent attempt to start a fight. The 25-yr-old was arrested and held in cells to sober up and to avoid him receiving a sidewalk attitude adjustment.

4:29 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Member on patrol queried the plate of the truck in front of him, learning that the owner had warrants. Traffic stop conducted, driver confirmed as owner. Warrants were executed out of Calgary and BC, he was remanded into custody.

3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 43A St – Complainant reported his 1991 Dodge 4×4 diesel pickup stolen, sometime over the past day. The truck is a white single cab with a Saskatchewan plate.

5:11 pm – Brazeau County – 50 Ave – Complainant reported holes drilled in the gas tank of a truck parked in a business yard.

22:47 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39/Hwy 22 area – Complainant reported an erratic driver, likely impaired, advised the vehicle was now stopped roadside. Member attended but upon approaching the vehicle, the driver put the truck in gear and drove off. Members tracked the truck until it crashed near 50 Ave by McDonalds. A 25-year-old male from Rochester, Alberta was arrested and is facing multiple charges.

October 13

2:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Complainant reported finding a power threader in his yard, and that there was a male working in the yard. Member attended, male was taking apart a pallet. Member seized the pipe threading tool for attempts to locate the correct owner.

October 14

3:23 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to an alarm at a liquor store, determined a break and enter occurred. Alarm company had tried calling a property representative first but were unable to reach anyone. Under investigation, video obtained showing three masked suspects in a silver Jeep Liberty.

9:11 am – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock School – Complainant reported seeing a male steal fuel from a bus at the location and leave in a white pickup with a rusty front. Member patrolled, unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Under investigation, incident likely on surveillance.

10:33 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 near Lodgepole – Complainant reported locating a black Lexus in the bush while hunting. Member attended, the 2013 Lexus was stolen out of Calgary earlier in October. Vehicle retrieved, examined for evidence and owner advised. No suspects were identified.

12:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Ave – Complainant reported a sexual assault by her ex boyfriend. Matter still under investigation.

October 15

10:47 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported three persons showed up at her residence, trying to intimidate her into returning children’s toys she had been given. Some video recording, yelling, and toy throwing ensued. Suspects had left upon police arriving. All parties warned to stay away from one another

2:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended to report a historical sexual assault by an ex. Still under investigation.

October 16

5:23 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/43 St – Complainant walking his dog reported two males on an ATV, wearing backpacks passed by him, suspects they are up to no good. Member unable to locate the ATV or confirm they were up to no good

9:34 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a fraud. They were advised that they had a warrant for their arrest and that they had to purchase bitcoins in order to clear the warrant. Complainant transferred approximately $10,000.

11:55 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a residence sometime overnight. Door had been kicked in. Tools and other items taken. Member attended, building secured.

October 17

2:04 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed a male being confronted by another. Male was being accused of checking out vehicles. No entry gained, nothing stolen.

3:51 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting their brother is trying to break in to the residence. Member attended, male gone upon arrival.
