Torrington man arrested following domestic dispute with firearm
A man is in custody charges pending following a domestic dispute involving a firearm Wednesday afternoon in Torrington.
It was at about 1: 15 p.m. when Olds RCMP responded to report of a distraught female in Torrington who called police as her common law husband threatened to kill her.
Mounties say the man had a loaded firearm and was in the residence with the woman as she was on the line with the police dispatcher. The call was cut off abruptly as officers from Olds, Didsbury and Three Hills Detachments were responding.
When en route an update was received that the male was walking down the street with the firearm. The RCMP Emergency Response Team and Air Services Helicopter were also dispatched to assist.
