Advance Polls this weekend for federal election

Canadians unable to make it out to the polls on Election Day (Oct.21) have several opportunities to cast their ballots ahead of time at Advance Polls over the upcoming Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

According to Elections Canada, Advance Polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. at ridings across the country on October 11, 12, 13 and 14.

Electors can also vote by mail or at any Elections Canada office prior to Oct. 15 at 6:00 p.m.

On October 21, voters will have 12 hours to cast their ballots at their assigned polling stations. However, hours will vary from province to province.

In addition, Elections Canada is opening Vote on Campus offices at 119 university and college campuses across Canada.

To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, be at least 18-years-old on Election Day and prove your identity and address.

Electors must also attend the poll location shown on their Voter Information Card.
