Red Deer man charged for shooting at O’Chiese First Nation

A Red Deer man has been charged after a shooting last week at the O’Chiese First Nation.

On Sept. 27 at approximately 8:30 p.m., RCMP were called to a residence to assist EMS with a female victim who had been shot in the head.

Police say the 35-year-old woman was transported to hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Blair Travis Saulteaux, 35, of Red Deer has been charged with:

– Aggravated Assault

– Breach of probation x2

– Possession of a firearm while prohibited

– Careless use of a firearm

– Pointing a firearm

– Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

– Possession of a firearm without license

– Possession of a restricted/prohibited loaded firearm

Saulteaux has been remanded into custody for a court appearance on Oct. 2 at Red Deer Provincial Court.
