Distinguished artists to be recognized at gala in Maskwacis

Albertan artists are being recognized this month through the annual Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards.

Festivities come to Maskwacis on September 21 at the Jonas Applegarth Theatre inside Nipisihikopahk Seconday School where three artists will receive special recognition.

The event will feature an awards gala from 2-4 p.m. and then dinner from 4-6.

Attendees will also be treated to performances by the Maskwacis Children’s Choir, Battle River Ensemble, and Percussion Fusion, a musical blending of Indigenous and western music conducted by Roger Admiral.
