Suspect sought after escaping police incident in Innisfail

Aug 31, 2019 | 11:56 AM

Innisfail RCMP are searching for a man who escaped after an intense incident in the town on Friday.

Police were conducting proactive enforcement in Innisfail when members observed two males outside a confirmed stolen Chrysler Pacifica.

When they went to attempt an arrest, both men jumped in the vehicle and drove off. In the process, the vehicle’s mirror clipped an officer. The officer was not injured.

However, the driver did not stop and fled at a high rate of speed before colliding with a civilian motorist. Again, he continued to drive until crashing into an underground parking barricade.

Both men then attempted to flee on foot, though one of them (the passenger) was arrested on scene.

Jesse Bulechowsky, 37, of Innisfail has been charged with:

· Possess property obtained by crime over $5000
· Resist arrest
· Flight from Police
· Fail to stop after accident
· Fail to comply with conditions (x2)

He will appear in court on September 4.

Meantime, RCMP are searching for 25-year-old Chase Gordon Donovan of Red Deer who is wanted on several outstanding charges.
