The Central Alberta Realtors Association says local home sales stable on a year-over-year basis in July.

They are reporting that 399 residential units were sold in the region last month, according to MLS statistics, just three units fewer than July 2018.

On a year-to-date basis, the association says home sales totalled 2,173 units over the first seven months of the year, down 8.6% from the same period in 2018.

Residential sales activity in all of Alberta, by comparison, was up 5.5% in July 2019 compared to July 2018.

There were 915 new residential listings in July 2019. This was up 4.6% on a year-over-year basis.

The dollar value of all home sales in July 2019 was $121.2 million, edging up 2.6% from the same month in 2018.

Also of note, the association reports that overall supply peaked a year ago and is now returning towards more normal levels with active residential listings numbered 4,439, down 7% from the end of July 2018.
