RCMP are hoping the public can help them locate one and identify two other men involved in the armed robbery of a liquor store in Ponoka.

The detachment says it was just after 10 p.m. on July 14 when members responded a call of an armed robbery.

Information provided indicated that four males had entered the store; one had bear spray and demanded money from the till. Three others grabbed bottles of liquor and fled from the store. The bear spray was not used and the clerk was unharmed.

Two of the males involved were identified by Ponoka RCMP, and charges have been laid or warrants issued.

On July 24, Brandon Morin of Samson First Nation was arrested in Maskwacis by a Leduc RCMP GIS member. Morin is facing one charge of robbery, and he was on release conditions at the time of his arrest.

Morin was released again on a promise to appear in a Ponoka courtroom on August 16.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Donovan Rain of Samson First Nation has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of disobey order of court. He has not been located and a warrant is out for his arrest.

Rain is described as First Nations, 5’9″ tall and 181 pounds with a goatee and a tattoo under both his left and right eye.

The other two suspects have not yet been identified.

If you have any information about this incident, or know the whereabouts of Donovan Rain, call the Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4472 or contact your local police department.
