Plane crash near Jasper claims one

The cause of a fatal plane crash in Alberta is under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board.

RCMP say a small aircraft was taking off from an airstrip near Jasper when it crashed into a nearby river.

An Alberta Health Services spokeswoman confirms one of the plane’s occupants was pronounced deceased, while the second was transported to hospital.
