Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report June 27–July 4

June 27

11:17 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a child left alone in a vehicle at IGA. While on line complainant reported adult female returned and left. Member located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop finding three children. Driver advised against leaving children alone and issued a ticket for expired registration.

12:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 42 Ave – Complainant reported her vehicle broken into overnight while parked in her driveway. Wallet with ID and some cash stolen.

3:04 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported being assaulted by her intoxicated mother-in-law. Victim provided a statement, assailant had left victims residence via taxi. Under investigation.

3:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported seeing people in a silver Jeep shooting up in a parking lot. Members located the vehicle on 50 Ave. by the Shell gas station. All three occupants were arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing. A loaded, sawed off double barrel shotgun was recovered along with stolen property and drug paraphernalia. Caroline Labonte, 40, was remanded in custody on 16 various new charges including weapons offences, possession of stolen property and several breach charges. Wayne Luck, 54, was released from custody after a bail hearing with conditions related to 15 various charges. Bailey Anderson-Love, 27, was remanded in custody on eight charges including possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools, fail to comply with a recognizance and possession of a weapon.

8:19 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 482 – Complainant reported possible break and enter on neighbours property. Members attended and located three males in the area, two arrested and the third fled in a truck and then on foot. The third suspect was located and it was determined the truck was stolen. Three males were initially arrested, one was subsequently released after being issued several traffic violation tickets, another was released without charge and Michael Tymchak, 37, was released after a bail hearing on charges of possession of stolen property and flight from police.

June 28

1:10 am – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 482 – Property owner reported attending his property where the above three males were first observed and confirmed a break and enter had occurred. Still under investigation.

10:12 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire. Approximately 100 feet of ground wire was cut from one of the pump jacks.

4:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting an assault. Minor injuries. Members attended and located suspect. Suspect male arrested and charged with assault.

8:57 pm – Cynthia – Complainant reporting a side by side had rolled and one female has a broken arm. EMS attended. Members attended with fire, Injured female was transported to Edmonton.

June 29

3:50 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting loud noise coming from neighbours. Chainsaw and music. Members attended, owner of residence refused to identify himself. Arrested for mischief and obstruct peace officer.

9:16 am – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Complainant reporting they located an abandoned burnt out truck. Member attended, vehicle was destroyed. Previously stolen out of Breton.

June 30

4:08 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Members on patrol located a male who attempted to evade them. Male known to police. Michael Ruesch, 25, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Reusch charged with possession of break and enter tools as well as possession o f a weapon for dangerous purpose. Remanded.

8:59 pm – Brazeau County – RR 55 – Complainant reporting two girls were tubing on Modeste Creek are missing. Members attended location, girls were located and safe. They had gone too far down the creek and had to walk back.

July 1

12:31 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting metal on the road which is obstructing the east bound lane by bridge. Member attended, parts of driveshaft on road were removed. Several persons reported damage to vehicles as a result.

5:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting they found drug paraphernalia. Member attended, seized drug items and destroyed them locally.

July 2

2:24 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver in an older model Chev truck. Member attended and located vehicle. Driver was a new driver and had been drinking. Vehicle seized for seven days and a 30 day drivers licence suspension issued.

9:05 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reporting business yard entered over the weekend and an as yet undetermined amount of tools taken from a sea can and a vehicle.

10:55 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complaint of a fence cut and business yard entered, several rolls of cable stolen which were then stripped in an adjacent yard. Under investigation.

July 3

6:42 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 620 near Hwy 22 – Member attended to an SUV vs deer collision. Initial report was that the driver was uninjured but trapped. Vehicle towed, driver not trapped or injured. Fire and EMS attended

7:04 am – Brazeau County – 50 Ave/Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported that a catalytic converter was stolen from a company truck at the location.

1:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported an unknown male in a black Ram truck pulled up beside him, called him derogatory names and accused him of being a pedophile. The suspect threatened to post these claims to social media. Under investigation, police have no information suggesting the allegations made have any validity.

2:43 pm – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported finding an abandoned truck in a marshy area. Members attended and confirmed the truck was stolen from a residence in the area. Truck removed, owner advised.

6:16 pm – Drayton Valley – Rotary Park area – Complainant reported a pizza delivery driver speeding, possibly racing a second vehicle. The pizza driver was located and advised to remember he is delivering pizza, not a heart machine.

6:32 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported the catalytic converter stolen off his Buick parked in a company yard. Under investigation, related to similar earlier report.

July 4

1:28 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported receiving threats via Facebook, believes he is receiving the threats as he repossessed a car from a female involved in the drug culture. Under investigation.

5:42 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complaint of a break and enter to a business yard and theft of a blue 2000 Dodge Ram, occurred overnight. Under investigation.
