Smith re-elected in Drayton Valley-Devon

United Conservative Party candidate Mark Smith has been re-elected as MLA for the Drayton Valley-Devon riding.

Smith was first elected as Wildrose MLA in 2015.

The former high school teacher and UCP education critic faced controversy during his re-election bid with opponents calling for him to be fired over offensive remarks he made surrounding abortion, homosexuality and pedophilia during a church sermon delivered in 2013.
