Apr 4, 2019 | 2:13 PM

Local firefighters are celebrating the efforts of their members and support from the community after raising $12,500 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada last weekend.

The four-day rooftop campout held at Fire Hall # 3 on Lees Street from Mar. 29 – Apr. 1, saw firefighters Ben Shillington, Jordan Schidlowsky, Josh Anderson and Griffin Marshall spend 96 hours on the roof collecting donations for the cause, with fellow members on the ground collecting donations as well.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada is supported by more than 800 fire departments and associations across Canada, including Red Deer.
