Lacombe officials warn of phone scam

A phone scam is making the rounds in Lacombe that officials want residents to be aware of.

The alleged phone scam displays “Town of Lacombe” on telephone caller ID displays, with an automated message pronouncing Lacombe as “Lacomb-ee” offering zero per cent interest rates on payments.

Officials advise that this is not the City of Lacombe, who says they would never contact citizens to make such offers or solicit personal information over the phone.

Please exercise caution when answering suspicious telephone calls, and avoid providing any personal or banking information over the phone.
