Maloughney wins Red Deer Catholic by-election

Robert Maloughney has won the by-election for the Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools Board of Trustees.

Voting took place Monday with the unofficial results showing Maloughney earned 381 votes while fellow candidate Terry Kulczycki earned 83.

The official election results will be announced at noon on Friday.

Maloughney has worked at six different schools in the district over 29 years, teaching every grade from kindergarten to grade 12, and has spent the last 14 years as a school-based administrator. His wife and his oldest daughter are currently teachers in the division.
