Canada Agriculture Day open forum in Red Deer

How to feed the world’s growing population will be the topic of discussion at an agriculture-themed conference in Red Deer Tuesday night. 

“Celebrating the 2050 Challenge”, Canada’s Agriculture Day open forum takes place at the Welikoklad Event Centre in downtown Red Deer (4922 49 Street) and will host several members of the agriculture community.

Event officials describe the forum as an opportunity to discuss how agriculture will be able to face the challenge of feeding 9.6 billion people by 2050.

A simultaneous event also taking place in Edmonton Tuesday evening will feature speakers covering the effects technology has on agriculture, the challenges of food production and the use of tools like genetic engineering in farming.
