Province announces new dates for Bighorn Country public info sessions
The provincial government has announced new dates for public consultation sessions regarding the Bighorn Country proposal.
The sessions were to take place earlier this month before being postponed with Environment and Parks Minister Shannon Phillips citing fear for a lack of safety brought on by “inflamed rhetoric” and “inaccurate statements” as the reason for the delay.
Public information sessions will now be held starting this Friday, Feb. 1 in Drayton Valley (4-7 p.m. at Clean Energy Technology Centre, 5400 22 Avenue). Additional sessions are scheduled for Saturday in Edmonton, Sunday at the Westerner Park Harvest Centre in Red Deer (1-4 p.m.) and Monday in Sundre (Royal Canadian Legion from 4-7 p.m.).
Each of the sites have undergone a safety and security review, according to the province.
