Local air company says Bighorn proposal will hurt business

A local commercial helicopter company says the province’s Bighorn Country proposal will have a significant negative impact on their business.

Alhambra-based Ahlstrom Air is an on-demand commercial helicopter charter company that has millions of dollars invested in aircraft, equipment and structures.

Company spokesperson Monica Ahlstrom says helicopters can’t land in a provincial park, provincial wildland or recreation area without a permit, which can take weeks to acquire.

She it will impact their business in a big way if they need to wait for a permit.
