Dec 7, 2018 | 3:30 PM

Trial dates have been set for a Red Deer RCMP officer charged with sexual assault and criminal breach of trust.

Cst. Jason Tress was charged in March 2017 following an ASIRT investigation that began in July 2016. The 32-year-old faces a total of four counts.

One count of sexual assault and one count of criminal breach of trust stem from an incident in 2016.

Another count of criminal breach of trust is in relation to a separate 2016 incident, unrelated to the first.

The second count of sexual assault dates back to an incident in 2012.

Two of the incidents allegedly happened while Tress was on duty, one of which while he was at the Red Deer RCMP detachment in December 2016.

Tress is currently suspended with pay and will remain off-duty until his charges are resolved.

A five-day preliminary hearing for Tress was held in Red Deer provincial court in October with Judge B.D. Rosborough determining there was enough evidence present for the case to go to trial.

The trial is scheduled for June 17 – 27, 2019 in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench.
