A 28-year-old man faces charges after a pickup truck drove into a north Red Deer pub in September.

Bradley Fisher is facing impaired driving and mischief-related charges for the incident on Sept. 22 when a truck drove through the entrance of the Lion’s Den Pub.

The incident took place just after 10 p.m.

RCMP said at the time that a truck had driven between two pillars and through the doors of the pub, located at the Quality Inn.

The male driver was said to have been restrained by occupants of the pub until police could arrive. Witnesses told police they saw a man leave the establishment in a taxi, then return a short time later in a truck before crashing it into the pub.

No one was injured, though there was extensive damage.

Fisher is expected to appear at Red Deer Provincial Court on Nov. 6.
