Rocky RCMP report for October 18-25

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE- RCMP have released the following report for the week of October 18-25.

10-25 at 7:42 P.M. – Complaint of a shoplifter at a RMH liquor store who fled in a stolen silver Chev Colorado from Red Deer.

10-25 at 8:03 P.M. – Attempted theft of a motor vehicle in RMH.  Ignition found damage by owner.

10-26 at 1:54 P.M. – Theft of licence plate taken from vehicle in the Horberg area of Clearwater County.

10-26 at 3:26 P.M. – Hit & run reported to police on the Sunchild First Nation.  Police arrested an intoxicated adult male driver. Charges are pending

10-26 at 4:47 P.M. – Call of a suspicious male who had showed up at a residence yesterday on Twp Rd 37-4 & Range Road 41-0, Clearwater County, asking the owner if they were renting their place. They told him they were not but he came back today and was snooping around the residence for about 20 minutes. He is described as about 50-years-old, grey hair, slim build, short grey beard, 5’10”, and wearing a black T-shirt with blue jeans. The car is described as an older grey car, missing a headlight, with a female driver.

10-26 at 8:19 P.M. – 911 complaint of an male laying on the side of the highway near the north end of Rocky. Police attended and arrested the intoxicated individual. 

10-26 at 10:59 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated male, at a local Rocky liquor store, trying to start a fight with other customers. Subject left prior to police arrival.

10-27 at 00:15 A.M. – Call of a suspicious female by a set of mail boxes in Rocky. Police attended and the individual attempted to slip away into the darkness of the trees. She was found crawling on the ground a short distance away. After providing a false name and having outstanding warrants, she was arrested.

10-27 at 12:57 P.M. – Complaint of Criminal Harassment after complainant was getting sexually explicit text messages from a male in Rocky. Under investigation.

10-27 at 4:38 P.M. – Owner of a vehicle in Nordegg had his pickup truck taken for a joy ride overnight while it was parked at the Lodge. Some damage to vehicle.

10-28 at 10:51 A.M. – 911 call of suspicious subjects in parking lot of local church. Police attended and arrested one adult male who had smashed a vehicle window and had stolen some items. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in which he had been ordered to pay $5200 or serve 60 days in jail. As well, upon being searched, meth was found to be in his possession. 

10-28 at 11:46 A.M. – Window smashed of vehicle while parked in parking lot of local bar overnight.

10-28 at 12:17 P.M. – Conflict and threats reported between hunters, west of Rocky. Police attended along with a Fish & Wildlife officer. Matter resolved.

10-28 at 2:01 P.M. – Theft of a 2005 black CHEV Duramax diesel pickup (Alberta licence plate BTV3396) with a 2008 white ARTIC CAT SnoPro snowmobile in the back.

10-28 at 4:43 P.M. – Report of threats received in Caroline. Under investigation.

10-28 at 4:55 P.M. – Complainant advised that someone had called stating they have their dogs which were stolen 2 weeks ago but wanted a pre-paid credit card before they returned them. Believed to be a scam.

10-29 at 9:00 A.M. – Complaint of threats received by a resident in Rocky. Under investigation.

10-29 at 9:09 A.M. – B&E to the Health Center on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.  Door smashed in. Under investigation

10-29 at 9:46 A.M. – Police observed a pickup truck, in a Rocky parking lot, which had earlier involved with flight from police. The driver got out and attempted to run from police but after a short foot pursuit, he was apprehended. He had outstanding warrants for his arrest and was breaching his prior release conditions. 

10-29 at 11:06 A.M. – Attempted theft from a Rocky liquor store.

10-29 at 12:33 P.M. – Theft of farm equipment from a location west of Caroline on Hwy #22, including a weed hitter valued at $6,200.

10-29 at 1:07 P.M. – Theft of 8 saddles and tack stolen from property on Buster Creek Road.

10-29 at 6:19 P.M. – Police arrested an adult male in possession of a stolen vehicle on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. The vehicle had been involved in a number of offences over the past week, including where an officer had been assaulted. He initially tried to run and hide in a residence to evade police but was apprehended after a lengthy struggle and biting the officer. He refused to give his true identity and had to be identified through fingerprints. He also was on probation and had outstanding warrants for his arrest in Red Deer. Numerous stolen firearms and knives were found in the stolen vehicle, including a prohibited loaded firearm in the glovebox.

10-29 at 7:27 P.M. –  Complaint of hunters disputing over permission to hunt on land in Clearwater County. Info passed on to Fish & Wildlife.

10-29 at 8:23 P.M. – Complaint of very intoxicated male passed out under a truck on the north end of Rocky. Taken to hospital for treatment.

10-30 at 4:17 A.M. – Complaint of a subject wanting to sleep in a local convenience store. Police arrested the individual. 

10-30 at 8:45 A.M. – Complaint of a B&E to shed at the Sunchild First Nation Health Center after it had just been repaired the day before.

10-30 at 11:04 A.M. – B&E to Arbutus Hall.  Door pried open.  Security camera system stolen.

10-30 at 4:21 P.M. – Complaint of someone shooting at a residence overnight on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. No injuries. Under investigation

10-30 at 4:10 P.M. – Man, known to police, arrested at Rocky liquor store on outstanding warrants. He was also in possession of methamphetamine. Further charges are pending.
