Woman hit by semi in critical condition

A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a semi along the QE II Highway near Innisfail over the weekend.

Innisfail RCMP responded to the scene at 1:35 a.m. on Saturday but are unable to release the woman’s age or place of residence at this time.

According to officials with STARS Air Ambulance, the woman was taken to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary. RCMP say she was in critical condition.

No charges have been laid at this point but the incident remains under investigation.
