NDP demands UCP detail planned cuts to regulations, labour rules
EDMONTON – The NDP says Opposition Leader Jason Kenney needs to explain what regulations and labour rules he plans to cut if he wins power.
Environment Minister Shannon Phillips says transparency is critical because she says Kenney’s plan will likely hurt working people.
The United Conservatives are still consulting on the party’s policy platform ahead of the spring election, but Kenney dropped some hints in a speech last week to the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
Kenney told the audience he will repeal labour rules enacted under the NDP that he says are hamstringing businesses by imposing higher costs.
