The official lineup of dancers and comumunity partner for the 2019 Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off have been unveiled.

On Sunday, event co-chair Christine Moore announced the Friends of Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre will benefit from the hundreds of thousands of dollars the competition will inevitably bring in.

The group, which has roots dating back to 1904, is comprised of dedicated volunteers who have fundraised to support the care and comfort of patients at Red Deer Regional Hospital.

The group has raised $7 million over the last 38 years.

“We are very grateful to the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off 2019 cabinet for believing in us and supporting our works,” says Edwin Joyes, chairperson. “The funds raised will have an immediate impact on our mission to support the care and comfort of patients at our hospital. We look forward to sharing our story with the greater community and making new friends. Thank you again!”

The 2019 class of dancers includes dentist Dr. Isaac Day, wealth advisor April Ferguson, Dairy Queen Red Deer co-owner Rhonda Hamill, city councillor Ken Johnston, media personality Vinnie Lee, hospital advocate Vanessa Higgins-Noriega, local CEO Trevor Sopracolle and local business owner Alex Wood.

Over the last seven years, the Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off has raised more than $2.5 million for local charities.

Next year’s event takes place Saturday, April 13 at the Sheraton Hotel.
