Second grizzly bear found shot dead south of Grande Prairie
GRANDE PRAIRIE- Alberta Fish and Wildlife officers are investigating another case of a grizzly bear being shot south of Grande Prairie.
Less than a week after a female cub was found shot dead off the Weyerhaeuser main haul road, officers received a report yesterday that a mature male grizzly had been shot in the chest.
The male grizzly was found about 104 km south of Grande Prairie on the Red Rock Road, 60 km from where the cub was found. It is believed the bear had been shot at the location in which it was found.
This bear weighed about 500 lbs and was found approximately 15 m off the side of the road.
