Get your shovels ready: 10-15 cm of snow is on the way

As the season officially changes to fall this weekend, a fresh dump of snow will mark the occasion Red Deer and Central Alberta.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for much of region including Red Deer, Red Deer County, Lacombe County and the County of Stettler.

Ten centimetres of snow is expected Friday evening and overnight, along with a risk of freezing rain. Another five centimetres is expected to hit the ground Saturday morning.

Wind gusts of 20 – 40 km/h are also expected over the next 24 hours.
