Local swimmers with options despite Michener Aquatic Centre repairs

Red Deer’s Recreation Centre Outdoor Pool will remain open past the Labour Day long weekend this year as the Michener Aquatic Centre remains closed for repairs next week.

City officials say this will allow access to lane swim opportunities for residents as well as scheduled rentals from community aquatic groups.

Elsewhere, the Blue Grass Sod Farm Central Spray and Play will close for the season starting Tuesday, September 4, while the Collicutt Centre pool will also close that day for annual maintenance until it reopens September 22.

Residents are reminded however that the Recreation Centre and GH Dawe Community Centres remain open for swimming during these closures.
