Charges have been laid following an alleged armed robbery on August 11 at Hammy’s Liquor Store in Ponoka.

RCMP say the incident happened that night just after 9:30.

It was reported that three men entered the store; one was masked and waving a knife at a store clerk, while the second male stole liquor and a third stood watch at the door.

All three fled in one vehicle.

At 1 a.m. the next morning, Ponoka detachment was advised that one of the suspects was in custody with Maskwacis RCMP on an unrelated matter. Maskwacis Mounties then assisted in identifying the other two suspects.

Charged is 18-year-old Patrick Littlechild of Maskwacis who faces counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and disguise with the intent to commit an offence and robbery.

He had a bail hearing on August 14.

RCMP will provide details of the other two males once arrest warrants have been granted.
