Red Deer Early Years Coalition launching ‘Take 5 to Make Change’ campaign

An organization that aims to engage families and the community in ensuring all of Red Deer’s children thrive through healthy development is kicking off a special campaign this month.

The Red Deer Early Years Coalition is launching their ‘Take 5 to Make Change’ campaign August 8 and is inviting members of the community to attend that launch from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Parkland School playground behind 3010 45 Avenue.

Officials say it will be a chance for parents and caregivers to bring their children to the playground and interact with them through various ways such as reading a book, doing puzzles, playing a game, being silly or exploring the outdoors.

Officials add the foundation of lifelong health is shaped from the earliest days of life, saying our kid’s early experiences and environment from conception to age six, help shape their brain architecture.
