RCMP are looking for a pair of suspects after a man was stabbed and robbed of his belongings while hitchhiking near Red Deer Saturday morning.

Mounties say a 26-year-old man was brought in to Lacombe Hospital sometime between 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. with an injury that police say resembled a stab wound.

RCMP say their investigation has so far determined the victim was picked up by an unknown vehicle around the area of Highway 11A and Highway 2.

Mounties say the vehicle had a male driver and female passenger and shortly after the hitchhiker was picked up, he was stabbed and robbed of his belongings.
