Building permit values lower in July but year-to-date numbers still higher

A slight decrease in Red Deer building permit values last month when compared to the same month last year but year-to-date numbers continue to be stronger than 2017.

That according to the latest stats from the City of Red Deer which show $9.1 million in building permits issued last month, down slightly from $9.2 million in July of 2017.

Year-to-date numbers however show $108.2 million in permits issued during the first seven months of 2018, well up from $68.5 million issued during the same time last year.

City officials say notable permits from July include a $1.47 million permit for upgrades to the Glendale Pumping Station, $700,000 permit issued for a four-bay commercial building at 500-6702 Golden West Avenue and $533,758 permit to install solar panels on the roof of Sorensen Station.
