Broderson wins Lacombe Junior Open on home track

Aug 2, 2018 | 9:19 AM

The long drive home from Medicine Hat was worth it for Chase Broderson.

After competing in the first two rounds at the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship, and missing the cut by a single stroke, Broderson drove through the night to make it back in time for Wednesday’s Jordan Brand Memorial Junior Open at the Lacombe Golf and Country Club.

Broderson then turned in a 1-over par 72 to claim the boys’ title. It’s his second win of the season on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour after claiming the Olds Junior Open last month.

Mitch Desjarlais of Broadmoor and Chris Otto of Edmonton finished three shots back of Broderson in second place.
