Abagael Thiessen is getting another shot at playing for Team Canada.

Hockey Canada has unveiled the list of players invited to participate in Canada’s National Women’s Development Team.

Thiessen, 20, is one of 41 players who will hit the ice for selection camp in Calgary, Aug. 3-11 to compete for a spot on the Canadian teams that will face the United States in a three-game series in mid-August. It’s the second straight year she’s been invited to the selection camp.

After playing four seasons with the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs, Thiessen started her college hockey career at the University of North Dakota. After UND closed its women’s hockey program, she moved on to St. Cloud State University where she posted 10 points in 33 games last season.
