McKinlay tied for lead at Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship

Lacombe’s Brady McKinlay is tied for the lead after the opening round of the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship in Medicine Hat.

McKinlay fired a three-under-par round of 68 on Monday and is tied with three other golfers atop the leaderboard – Daniel George of Richmond Hill, ON, Bennett Ruby, Waterloo, ON, and William Duquette of Laval, QC.

Carter Graf of Sylvan Lake is tied for 20th after day one. He’s just two shots back of the lead after turning in an opening round score of 70.

Chandler McDowell of Red Deer is tied for 30th after shooting 73.

Chase Broderson of Lacombe posted a score of 77 with his opening round while Jace Ouelette of Red Deer County shot a 78.

Team Ontario leads the inter-provincial competition at a combined one-over. Team Quebec and Alberta are tied for second at two-over.

Round two of the four-round championship goes today (Tuesday) at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.
