Ponoka golfer competes at Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship

Shaye Leidenius of the Wolf Creek Golf Course out of Ponoka finished with a score of 158 after playing two rounds of the 2018 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship held in Vancouver, B.C. this week.
Leidenius shot a 77 in Round 1 and 81 in Round 2 to finish +16 but missed the cut for rounds three and four.
Yealimi Noh from Concord, California caotured the Duchess of Connaught Gold Cup championship. Noh carded a single birdie and a single bogey on Friday to shoot her only round in the 70s.
Jennifer Kong remained the low scoring Canadian. She finished the tournament two-over 286 with a share of 14. The Vancouver B.C. native has now earned exemption into this year’s CP Women’s Open in August.
