Kristian Reichel has officially played his last game with the Red Deer Rebels.

After a strong first season in the WHL as a 19-year-old in 2017-18 it was widely expected that Reichel would get another shot at playing professional hockey.

After being passed over in this month’s NHL Draft, Reichel signed Thursday with the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.

Reichel’s signing comes after he attended Winnipeg Jets Development Camp for the second time this week.

In his lone season with the Rebels, Reichel collected 34 goals and 27 assists for 57 points in 63 regular season games. He added three goals and two assists in five playoff games.

The son of former NHLer Robert Reichel also represented his native Czech Republic at the World Junior Hockey Championship last December for the second time. He previously played professional hockey in his home country in 2016-17 for HC Litvinov and HC Most.
