CALGARY- The Calgary Police Service is adding a less-lethal device to the arsenal of weapons its officers can use on the streets.
The service is bringing in a single-shot weapon called a “less-lethal” launcher, which shoots foam or wood bullets.
Staff-Sergeant Jason Bobrowich says the projectiles still hit hard.
Last year, Calgary police shot three people.
In 2016, 10 people were shot and five of those suspects died.
