EDMONTON- An Edmonton man accused of killing his 38-year-old son-in-law by shooting and stabbing him multiple times has been found guilty of second-degree murder.

A jury returned the verdict yesterday in the trial of Roberto Robles, who had been charged in the 2016 death of Armando Cosmea-Aspillaga.

The defence had pushed for a manslaughter conviction, arguing Robles believed Cosmea-Aspillaga had exploited his daughter and he wanted him to move out.

A judge is expected to rule August 1st on parole eligibility.
